Specialty Coffee with a French Press
You don't need an expensive setup to brew great coffee. The french press is simple, affordable, and when used correctly, capable of producing a genuinely great cup.

The Recipe
| Dose | 35g coffee |
| Water | 500g (94–96°C) |
| Ratio | 1:14 |
| Grind | Coarse |
| Brew time | 4 minutes |
Steps
- Preheat your press with hot water, then discard
- Add 35g of coarsely ground coffee
- Pour 500g of water and stir gently
- Place the lid on, plunger up, and wait 4 minutes
- Plunge slowly and pour immediately

The Most Common Mistake
Leaving coffee in the press after plunging. Once you push down, pour it out. It keeps extracting and turns bitter fast.
